Whenever I travel to different states or places I ALWAYS want to try new fun restaurants! Food is one of the most exciting things about traveling. Now keep in mind… not all of these places are going to be healthy BUT they do have healthy options. Sometimes you just want to have fun with your food choices.
Vegan food will STILL have more veggies than other restaurants out there which is great cause then you do not feel guilty about eating it all the time.
14 of The Best Vegan Restaurants in Denver
City o City
I love City O City and it will always be my go-to for a bit of unhealthy filling vegan comfort food. The atmosphere is very different from other places. It has a hip young urban feel to it.
They have a small outdoor area that’s so nice in the summertime. I will admit parking is a little tough. There is also a museum right down the street for a little sightseeing fun after lunch.
My personal favorite foods that I have tried there are…
- Chicken and waffles– They are so crunch and made with cauliflower (can be saltier on some days so watch out for that)
- BBQ mac wrap
- Their biscuits and gravy
- Vegan pizza with their homemade cashew cheese
- The poutine
- Vegan breakfast burrito with their vegan gravy and vegan queso
I also am a huge fan of their kombucha for gut health and some of their baked goods are okay… but the place next door is where they get their deserts so check them out afterwards!
Native Foods
Ahh Native foods! This is a California based restaurant that is almost like a fast food place like Noodles and Company. They have all Vegan food so anything you get will not have a chance to be in contact with dairy or eggs. They also have gluten free options which is great for all you gluten sensitives out there!
They have some cool salads, crispy chiken nuggets and delicious deserts. I love their chocolate chip cookie and oatmeal cream pie. I have just recently discovered them so I still have some more exploring to do. I have tried the crispy chicken sandwich and a burger that isn’t on the menu.
What’s cool about native foods is they change their menu every season with new foods and occasionally some new desserts.
Watercourse Foods
This restaurant is gorgeous! It has a really cool urban industrial type look. This is a great vegan restaurant for those who might be more health conscious.
I have yet to try their foods as it is a little far and I always just want to go to city o city… But I really want to try it out. One of my friends at my church has been there and says its super fresh and nutritious. Some of their menu items include:
- Cauliflower wings and Seitan wings(more protein in these)
- Southwestern salad
- Buffalo Tempeh burger
- Seared tofu
- Street Tacos Platter
- Mac and cheese
They even have a kids menu for those who need something for the kiddos. They even have a lavender latte which… sounds bomb!
Beet Box
Okay so this one is important because… Vegan sweets and donuts. All my time being vegan it is so HARD to find a vegan bakery or even just vegan donuts! Its really frustrating when I just want donut. It can be hard not to give in to Krispie- Kremes but then I think about all the fat, oil, sugar and animal products that I pass. Beet box is such a cute little vegan bakery that has delectable treats like cake and pastries. They also have sandwiches if you are craving a Sammy.
Some of their treats include:
- Cinnamon rolls
- Croissants
- Tarts
- Baked donuts (with GF options!!)
- Fresh baked breads
- GF muffins
- GF scones(omg I miss starbucks vanilla scones)
- Brownies
- Special cakes (can do wedding cakes)
Sorry not sorry if I got your sweet tooth riled up! Hehe
Vital Root
A super cute trendy café that is actually pretty spacey. They have happy hour as well if you are into that sort of thing. They have really fresh Veggie inspired foods that are intriquet and think of your health and your body in mind. They also have a “raw” dinner first Monday of the month. They are also GF.
Some of their menu items are:
- Cashew queso dip
- Everything bagel with avocado toast (no eggs/)
- Banh Mi tacos where they have edamame and tofu with fresh veggies
- Sunflower risotto
- Falafel wrap
- Korean stir fry
When ordering here, make sure to specify that you are vegan so they can swap out ingredients for you! They are 99% vegan lol.
Moxie Eatery
This is a little shop right near my hair salon that I really enjoyed! I have only been once but I really liked it because it was fresh, filling, and comforting! Not busy at all too which is great because some of the places nearby are busy AF.
I like where this place is located too as it is on a strip street with lots of little shops everywhere! But don’t break a sweat if you don’t make it here. Highly recommend the other local places before this one.
The Corner Beet
This place in adorable little corner organic coffee shop that has very different vegan options! I have been wanting to try this one for a while now and am super excited to try it. Not all items are vegan but most are!
Some of the items include:
Toast with hummus cucumber, tomato, onion and sprouts with a balsamic glaze, add avocado for more creaminess!
They also have zaatar which is a Lebanese blend of spices just order without the cheese and you’re good! They also have smoothies, fresh pressed juices, and acai bowls.
Make Believe Bakery
This is the bakery right next to City o City. They are really small but delicious! They make everything fresh every day and is 100% vegan. Some of their treats are also at watercourse.
Some of the treats include:
- Banana bread
- Sweet potato cinnamon rolls
- Scones
- Cookies
- Brownies
- Pies
- And super fresh bread
- You can also get cake! (Vanilla bean cheesecake any one?)
Snooze
I have a love-hate relationship with Snooze. Mainly because every time I go there, it’s packed and doesn’t have any sweet vegan breakfast options! It’s also pretty pricy for the amount you get.
However, it is really filling which I like. There are also a few here in Denver in different locations. The one I go to is very close to my house, so for a quick savory breakfast, I hit up Snooze.
I like getting the breakfast tacos with no cheese, adding avocados and swap out the eggs with soyrizo! It’s crazy how good the rizo is!
Sputnik
This is a more old-timey retro restaurant that has a whole vegan menu! So this is a great place to go if you want to take some meat-eater friends here. They have some vegan breakfast options, sandwiches and salads. Their menu isn’t as big as some of the other places mentioned though.
Some of their items are:
- Roasted vegetable curry
- Cubano
- Israeli falafel
- The chimi
- vegan corn dog!
- And breakfast scramble
Okay so there you have it! All 14 Vegan places you can check out. Even though they all aren’t 100% vegan they have lots of vegan options which is great for anyone just starting out! You just need to make sure you’re letting servers and cashiers know so you don’t get something else on accident!
I love these places and hope you will be able to check them out the next time you come to Colorful Colorado!
If you want to know more places I could check out while I still live here( Colorado Native) Let me know! I will be happy to do some exploring since Colorado is so big!
